Benefit fundraiser planned May 19 for Dorinda Hamilton

A benefit fundraiser in honor of Dorinda Hamilton will be at the Northland Arboretum is planned noon to 4 p.m. May 19. There will be a sloppy Joe lunch for a donation of $7, silent auction, cash and prize drawings. Donations for cash or auction items are also being accepted.

Hamilton, who was born and raised in Brainerd, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. She is an employee of Essentia Health St. Joseph’s Medical Center where she has worked in the staffing office for the past 10 years.

“Dorinda is dearly beloved by co-workers, family and friends,” fundraiser organizers reported. “Those who have ever met Dorinda agree she is a loving person who always wears a smile on her face. She is often described as having ‘a caring heart and a personality that is inspirational.’”
