Brainerd firefighters respond to multiple calls

Brainerd firefighters respond to grass fires

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to multiple calls this weekend, including three grass fires on Sunday.

The first grass fire was reported 1:28 p.m. Sunday near Acorn Nursery, on Highway 371 north of Baxter. Two small grass fires were reported at 1:37 p.m. Sunday near the Business Highway 371 bridge bypass.

Other calls firefighters responded to this weekend included: A call at 10:15 a.m. Sunday to 7565 Lone Oak Road to a possible illegal burn; a call at 7:35 p.m. Saturday to 15847 Old Stone Bridge, to check on a carbon monoxide alarm; and a call at 8:42 p.m. Friday of a power pole fire near Cragun’s Golf Resort and Conference Center.
