Cass County economic lab to offer businesses help with Google Maps

PINE RIVER — Cass County Economic Development Computer lab will offer a class to help businesses learn how to get a listing on Google Maps and to market a website.

The class will run from 5 to 8 p.m. May 24 at the computer lab, 980 First St. N, Pine River, just north of the high school. Pre-registration is required by calling (218)947-7523 or emailing to

Over 50 million people use GPS units and even more use Google Maps or Bing of YUahoo to find goods or services, according to Cass County Economic Development Director Gail Leverson. The workshop will help business owners learn how to get on those maps.

It also will offer help for getting your website found by customers. The class also will explore how social media like Twitter and Facebook, online advertising, blogs and e-newsletters can drive business to your website, Leverson said.

Space is still available for QuickBooks training from 5 to 8 p.m. May 22 at the computer lab. Cost for the QuickBooks class is $70.

It is a basic skills class Central Lakes College offers for system setup, files setup, setting preferences and customizing chart of accounts. It covers transactions for invoicing, deposits, accounts receivable, accounts payable and cash disbursements.
