Essentia invites community to cancer survivorship picnic on June 7
The Cancer Center at Essentia Health - St. Joseph’s Medical Center invites all cancer survivors and their families to a picnic to celebrate their journey.
Join other survivors and cancer center staff 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. June 7 in the River Room Café at Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd. Each survivor will be honored with a gift, may have a professional photo taken and enjoy appetizers and fellowship with other survivors and their families.
A brief program includes a welcome, prayer, survivor story, oncologist Dr. Laura Joque, information on the new mentorship program and celebration of the outstanding achievement award recently received from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.
The cancer center is one of 106 accredited cancer programs across the United States to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award (OAA), recognizing cancer programs that strive for excellence in providing quality care to cancer patients.
The survivor picnic is free for cancer survivors and their families. Participants are asked to pre-register for the event to allow staff to prepare for the proper numbers. For more information, call Kim at 828-7650.
