Trolling for the Troops

The second annual Trolling for the Troops involved 36 professional fisherman and guides who partnered with a recently deployed soldier and a disabled veteran for a fishing experience on either the Mississippi River or Lake Mille Lacs.

Trolling for the Troops is an event allowing disabled veterans and recently deployed soldiers to fish with some of the best anglers and fishing guides in the Midwest including the FLW Fishing Tour, Upper-Mississippi River Smallies Club, and Linder Media Network.

Veterans and recently deployed soldiers applied for the event through the VA hospital in St. Cloud and the American Legion Organization of Minnesota. More than 100 applicants applied with 72 chosen through a random drawing process.

Soldiers and veterans received the experience of fishing with professionals that utilize the most up-to-date fishing equipment, boats and tactics used in professional fishing tournaments.
