Three women injured in vehicle crash

BAY LAKE — Three women were injured Monday when the vehicle they were in lost control, went off the road at 14190 Crooked Lake Road in Bay Lake Township and struck a tree, reported the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office.

It was reported that there was smoke coming from the vehicle, but there was no fire. The occupants at first were unable to get out of the vehicle, but two were out when deputies arrived.

The driver, Casandra Thomas, 22, Aitkin, and her two passengers Samantha Doesken, 22, St. Cloud, and Brittany Evans, 18, Pine River, were injured and transported to a hospital. Doesken and Evans were taken by Crosby ambulance to Cuyuna Regional Medical Center where they were in stable condition Tuesday. The Crosby hospital had no information available on Thomas on Tuesday.

The Garrison Fire Department assisted at the scene.

The crash was reported at 10:38 p.m.
