The Brainerd Fire Department responded to several calls Friday.

Calls began at 7:22 a.m. when firefighters responded to 424 West College Drive to a call that turned out to be a false alarm. At 8 a.m., there was a call to the Country Inn and Suites in Baxter, but firefighters were canceled en route. Firefighters also responded to vehicle fire at 9:50 a.m. on the 17000 block of Highway 371.

In the afternoon, firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 1:23 p.m. to the Community Behavioral Health Hospital in Baxter to what turned out to be a false alarm. At 2:14 p.m., firefighters were called to the Brainerd Regional Human Services Center for an alarm. It was later reported the state hospital was working on their phone systems and when the phones were turned off it set off the smoke alarm.

Firefighters also responded to a boat fire at 5:33 p.m. Thursday on the 2000 block of Mill Avenue.
