Next court hearing set for woman who burglarized HART

The 24-year-old Pillager woman — who was charged with third-degree burglary that occurred at Heartland Animal Rescue Team (HART) in Baxter — appeared Monday in Crow Wing County District Court.

Judge Erik Askegaard set Samantha Jo Martin’s next court hearing for 1:30 p.m. Aug. 29.

According to the criminal complaint filed against Martin, she admitted to going to HART; stealing the dog without paying the $600 in fees owed; letting out the other dogs; spray painting the building; causing damage to locks, law enforcement door and fences and cutting the phone lines.
