Programs coming to Staples Library

STAPLES — The Staples Public Library will host two upcoming programs.

“Uncle Mike’s Big Dreams Show” will be held from 6:30 to 7:15 p.m. July 9. The program is geared for children in kindergarten through fifth grade. Children will get to dance to polka music, do quizzes and watch educational videos.

“Cartooning with Jim Bertram” will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. July 12. The program is for preteen ages 8-12. Bertram is a nationally published cartoonist. He will cover basic techniques on how to draw cartoons quickly and easily. Participants may feel free to bring their your own artwork to share as well as pictures of their favorite cartoon character for drawing exercises. Attendance limit is 20 and preregistration is required.

These programs are funded in part with money from Minnesota’s Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund. For more information, contact the library at (218) 894-1401.
