■ In the July 8 Weekender about “Storage Wars” Brainerd style, Drew Prochazka should have been listed as having an ownership interest in the Brainerd General Rental Secure Storage business, but he is not associated with Brainerd General Rental on Highway 371, which is owned by Steve and Maureen Mau.

■ On July 1, Kurt Martin wrote a response to Crow Wing County Administrator Tim Houle’s guest column. Crow Wing County presented levy amounts and percentage increases and reported the numbers Martin used were inaccurate.

Martin stated the levy increased 81 percent from 2004 to 2010. The county reported the increase was 74 percent. Crow Wing County numbers list the levy increase at 6.95 percent in 2004, 34.64 percent in 2005, 11.82 percent in 2006, 5.90 percent in 2007, 3 percent in 2008, 2.98 percent in 2009 and 2.95 percent in 2010. From 2008 to 2012, Martin stated the levy grew by 5.18 percent. The county reported an increase of 2.08 percent. From county records, the levy increased 3 percent in 2008, 2.98 percent in 2009, 2.95 percent in 2010 before it began to decrease by 1.38 percent in 2011 and 2.37 percent in 2012. Martin stated actual expenditures from 2008 to 2012 were 7.2 percent. The county reported it was .83 percent. County records show total expenditures of $70,653,684 in 2008, $70,061,331 in 2009, $71,296,301 in 2010, $68,148,473 as budgeted in 2011 and $71,240,337 as budgeted in 2012.
