United Way lists 2012-2014 grant allocations

United Way of Crow Wing and Southern Cass Counties has announced the 2012 – 2014 grant allocations. In March the United Way’s Vision Council, made up of 35 community members from various walks of life met with local non-profit organizations applying for United Way funding to evaluate their programs, review financial records, and develop an understanding of the agencies community impact. The Vision Council then provided the United Way board of directors with their funding recommendations for approval. Funding has been approved for 32 local agencies funding a total of 46 programs in Crow Wing and Southern Cass Counties. Funding for the following agencies and their programs begins July 1:

Bridges of Hope: Brief Intervention Services.

Community Care N Share: Community Care N Share Program.

Confidence Learning Center: People First Disability Second, Volunteer Program.

Crisis Line and Referral Service: 24 Hour Community Life Line, Suicide Prevention.

Cuyuna Range Food Shelf: Food Shelf

Cuyuna Range Youth Center: Youth Center After School Program.

Crow Wing County Victim Services: General Crime Direct Services Program.

ECHC Foundation: General Crime Direct Services Program.

Family Safety Network: Community Advocacy.

Girl Scouts of MN and WI Pine and Lakes: Girl Leadership Development Program.

Junior Achievement: School Program.

Kinship Partners: 1-on-1 Mentoring Programs for Brainerd, Crosby, Pequot Lakes, Pine River, and Backus.

Lakes Area Food Shelf: Food Shelf.

Lakes Area Restorative Justice Project: Truancy/Post Adjudicated Program, Bullying/Harassment RJ Project.

Lakes Area Senior Activity Center: Model Rail Road Club, Pickle Ball.

Lutheran Social Services Caregiver Support: Support and Respite Services, Senior Nutrition.

Lutheran Social Services Counseling Center: Counseling Center.

Lutheran Social Services Financial Counseling: Financial Counseling.

Lutheran Social Services Foster Grandparent Program: Foster Grandparent Program.

Lutheran Social Services Hope Housing: Hope Housing.

Lutheran Social Services Journey Transitional Living: Journey Transitional Housing.

Minnesota Licensed Family Child Care Association: Mentoring Family Child Care Providers.

Northland Arboretum: Operation Lean and Grow.

Northland Area Family Service Center: Family Center Home Visiting Program, Adventures in Reading, Financial Literacy.

Pillager Family Council: Food Shelf & Family Support, Home Visiting Program, Early Childhood Preschool.

Pine River Backus Family Center: Family Center Home Visiting, Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Prevention, Pine River Area Food Shelf.

Salem Lutheran Church, Salem West: Salem West Program.

Sexual Assault Services: Prevention Education.

The Salvation Army: Prescription Medication Program.

The Warehouse: After School Program.

Youth Investment Foundation/Timberbay: Timberbay Brainerd, Pequot Lakes, Pine River, and Crosby.
