Kukowski joins Edina Realty
Ivy Kukowski recently received her associate real estate license from the state of Minnesota.
A lifelong Wadena resident, she now lives with her husband and family in Brainerd.
Kukowski’s parents purchased and repaired real estate for many years in the Wadena area and Edina Realtor Penny Nelsen worked with the Kukowski’s to sell the refurbished homes. Nelsen encouraged Kukowski to capitalize on her experience and sales expertise and enter the real estate profession as an Edina Realty sales associate in Baxter.
Waterfront properties are a hot commodity, Edina Realty reports
The summer of 2012 is turning out to be one of the hottest summers on record.
And Edina Realty says that’s not limited to the weather heat index. Edina Realty reports that home sales in Minnesota and western Wisconsin are up 16 percent so far this year, while sales of waterfront properties – properties located on or with views of lakes, rivers and ponds, are up 125 percent compared to last year.
Altogether, 2,196 waterfront properties sold from January through the end of June, compared to 976 during this timeframe last year. Edina Realty experts say sales of waterfront properties typically peak during the summer months; nearly one in four sales took place in July or August last year. The vast majority of sales took place in May and June and Edina Realty expect July and August 2012 will be even bigger.
According to Edina Realty, the top 10 non-metro cities with the highest number of waterfront properties for sale (most to least) are Hayward, Wis., Crosslake, Park Rapids, Aitkin, Alexandria, Brainerd, Walker, Ely, Detroit Lakes, and Pequot Lakes.
