Work place ATV crash injures Emily man

CROSSLAKE — Shawn Groat, 49, Emily, was injured Friday morning when the all-terrain vehicle (ATV) he was riding flipped over and pinned him to the ground.

The incident was reported at 11:15 a.m. off County Highway 3 in Crosslake at Lakes Area Rental, where Groat is employed as a mechanic.

The Crosslake Police Department reported no one witnessed the crash so it was uncertain Friday how Groat was injured.

“In essence, he got caught under the ATV,” said Police Sgt. Erik Lee.

Groat was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital, where his condition was unavailable as of late Friday afternoon.
