12-year-old boy injured in water ski crash

BACKUS — A 12-year-old Seattle boy was in fair condition Friday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale after a boating incident that occurred Aug. 12 on Lake Ponto near Backus.

The Cass County Sheriff’s Office reported that Dylon Amadeck was in the lake putting his water skies on with his aunt when the boat that was going to pull him, which was pulling another skier at the time, struck the boy. The boy was airlifted to North Air Care to North Memorial with serious injuries. The aunt was not injured.

The boating incident was reported at 12:53 p.m.
