Fund established for
CLC’s Pine River students
PINE RIVER — Students attending the Central Lakes College (CLC) Pine River Outreach Site will have access to a special scholarship fund this fall.
Scholarships of up to $350 per student are now available thanks to Crow Wing Power and area donors.
The scholarship fund was set up by the CLC Foundation.
“Scholarships in Pine River will be based on financial need and the amount of scholarship funding the college receives from the 2012 fall solicitation. Students attending the Pine River site who are interested in applying for this scholarship should contact the foundation at 218-855-8129,” said Pam Thomsen, foundation executive director.
“We’re pleased to be able to now offer scholarships to people attending the Pine River site.” said Char Kinzer, Crow Wing Power public relations manager.
The fall CLC Pine River Outreach Site courses will be applied mathematics and blueprint reading, which are part of a technical degree such as robotics or machine trades. To register for classes call the CLC admissions office at 1-800-933-0346 as soon as possible. Classes are scheduled to begin Sept. 10.
