Workshops will be plentiful, the entertainment is expected to be a hit and with a new car show this year — the Ageless Expo has it all.

The 16th annual expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Forestview Middle School, located on Knollwood Drive off Crow Wing County Road 48 in Baxter. The expo is for seniors age 55 and up, but anyone may attend to learn information about the elderly.

There will be more than 30 exhibitors inside the cafetorium and extending out into the front lobby of Forestview. The variety of exhibitors ranges from Let’s Go Fishing to the Minneapolis Heart Institute.

DeAnn Barry, director at the Lakes Area Senior Activity Center in Brainerd, said in the lobby there also will be an artist exhibition area where art groups from The Center will be displaying their art forms and individuals attending the expo will be able to try their hand at rosemaling, wood carving and a variety of arts. Workshops will be held in two classrooms. Topics will include Medicare 101, Common Foot Problems, Depression in Older Adults, Your Retirement Income; Optimize it, The Ageing Eye and What You Need to Know and Ask the Cardiologist.

Barry said a new attraction at the expo this year will be the Ageless Car Show. Antique, classic and muscle cars will line the parking lot on the east side. Barry said anyone is welcome to bring their car to the show. She said there is no entry fee. Awards will be given for People’s Choice and Owner’s Choice.

Entertainment groups performing on stage will be the Evergreen Cloggers, Ray’s Promenaders and Diane Saumer and Friends. Diane Saumer and Friends will perform at 1:30 p.m. Bob Guide sings and plays his sax; Dawn Hill at the keyboard; Pat Scrimshaw on harmonica; and Jim Olsen on lead guitar.

“We are excited to be performing together again for such a wonderful audience as the Expo attracts,” Saumer said in a news release. “We meet old and new friends each time.”

Barry said, “If you have attended this event in the past, come again. New information, great entertainment and check out the car show. Bring your friends, neighbors and family as there is something for everyone.”

The free event is sponsored by Brainerd Community Education and The Center.
