P.T.L concert a success

WALKER — More than 300 people attended the fifth annual P.T.L. concert fundraiser for Faith in Action at Calvary Church in Walker. The music and message given by Marilyn Bonk, Theresa Eclov, P.J. Matthews, Carol Gustafson and Pamela Burnett, with help from emcee, Mona Bean, highlighted the mission of Faith in Action: “Compassionate volunteers serving people in need.” Ryan Pels and Harlan Slinkard brought toe-tapping guitar and banjo music; The Calvary Four Plus One, a southern gospel quartet with Doug Pitt, Chet Kelm, Lynn Mineer and Jeff Corn performed; and Mitzi Pearl also was back to hand out tidbits of homespun wisdom and stories about her “Cousin Minnie”.

Faith in Action volunteers drive clients to appointments, shopping and errands on a regular basis. In addition, volunteers drive to clients’ homes to deliver meals on wheels, help with light housekeeping or yard work; provide respite and visiting, and help with minor home repairs, as well as building wheel chair ramps and railings.
