Foreclosures continue to post strong numbers in Crow Wing County

Foreclosures continue across Crow Wing County and more are waiting in the wings.

There were 33 foreclosures in August, the most in the county since April. August had the second highest number of foreclosures for the county so far this year.

The number of notices of pendency, which indicate a foreclosure is in the works, declined in June to 29 and in July to 31 only to surge upward in August. There were 41 pending foreclosures in August. It’s only second to 47 pending foreclosures in May.

To date this year, there have been 194 foreclosures in the county and 290 pending foreclosures. Those numbers are down compared to last year when by August there were 272 foreclosures and 307 pending in the county.

The current August numbers are similar within a few numbers to those posted in 2009 and 2008. In 2010, there were fewer foreclosures with 26 but significantly more pendencies at 60.
