Man killed in Cass Lake crash

CASS LAKE — A 38-year-old Bemidji man Theodore Bruers was killed Thursday when the Dodge truck he was driving rear-ended a dump truck on Highway 2, four miles east of Cass Lake, the Minnesota State Patrol reported.

The fatal crash was reported at 9:40 a.m. Bruers was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.

The driver of the Peterbuilt dump truck, Allen Pence, 64, of Cass Lake suffered a minor injury, the state patrol reported.

The Cass Lake Fire Department and ambulance, and Cass County Sheriff’s office and Hubbard County Sheriff’s office assisted.
