Precious Waters Flotilla to stop at Lum Park

Precious Waters Flotilla will stop at Lum Park

A month-long canoe trip from northeastern Minnesota to the state Capitol to raise awareness about sulfide mining in the state will make a stop Saturday at Brainerd’s Lum Park.

The event is being organized (and paddled) by three Lake County residents. Along the way, they are holding four free informational community events in Floodwood, Crosby, Brainerd and St. Cloud, followed by a rally at the Capitol.

The event in Brainerd will be 6 p.m. Saturday at Lum Park. A gathering will begin at 5:30 p.m. with speakers starting at 6 p.m. Those attending are invited to bring a dish to share or an item to donate to the paddlers.
