Community notification meeting set for level 3 predatory offender

Crow Wing County Sheriff’s announced an upcoming community notification meeting for the release of a Level 3 sex offender into the township of Lake Edward.

Christopher Eugene Wheeler, 39, is scheduled to be released on Oct. 11 from the Department of Corrections. The community notification meeting has been scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at the Nisswa Community Center.

According to the sheriff’s office report, Wheeler is 5 feet 5 inches tall with brown hair and brown eyes. He will be moving to the 25000 block of Mud Lake Road in rural Nisswa. Wheeler has a history of sexual conduct with juvenile female victims between the ages of 10-15. The offender was known to his victims.

Crow Wing County Sheriff’s stated in a release that the offender is not wanted by police at this time and has served the sentence imposed on him by the court. This notification is not intended to increase fear in the community.
