Thank you, 'Firecrackers'

A few weeks ago, the Brainerd area was stricken with a very large fire at the Hillcrest Apartments. Many people were left homeless. The community has stepped up tremendously to assist those in need with cloths, food and shelter. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the people involved with this emergency: Brainerd Police Department, Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Department, DNR Conservation Officers, North Ambulance, Salvation Army, American Red Cross, Crosby, Nisswa, Pillager Fire Departments, the general public for helping out, the owners and managers of the building, and anyone else I may have forgotten. During a time like this it is always nice to see everyone work together as a team. I would also like to take this time to thank our women’s organization called ”The Firecrackers;” this is a volunteer group made up of all the firefighters’ significant others. This group of dedicated women provided food and refreshments to all the personnel on the scene that day. Food was provided by Dominos and Cub Foods of Brainerd.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
