Saint Francis running club

In anticipation of the Saint Francis Catholic School Marathon held on Wednesday, a new running club has been formed. Saint Francis School PE teacher, Mikkey White, will be coordinating a 5k/10K for students 6th through 8th grade and any 5th graders who want to participate for the annual Marathon. The running club meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays and participate in a one hour run. White has set up a daily toning and exercise calendar for the runners. The 5K and 10K will take place on the Paul Bunyan Trail.

Kindergarten through 5th grade students will also participate in the Marathon by walking, running or riding bikes on a route in close proximity to the school. In addition, White has met with each students to set individual physical goals for the event.

The Marathon is an annual fundraiser for the school and the students receive pledges and donations for their participation.

The finale of the marathon will be a carnival to be held in the school gym from 3-5 p.m. on Wednesday.
