Two dead in Mille Lacs County crash

Two men are dead and one was injured after their vehicle rolled into Mille Lacs Lake just after midnight on Sunday.

Minnesota State Patrol reports the accident happened at 12:06 a.m. Sunday on Timber Trail Road and U.S. Highway 169.

The car, driven by 37-year-old Andrew Nickaboine, Minneapolis, was traveling north on Timber Trail Road when the vehicle crossed over U.S. Highway 169 into a ditch before ending in Mille Lacs Lake.

Nickaboine and front seat passenger, Ronald Dorr, 42, of Columbia, Minn., were transported to Onamia Hospital where they were pronounced dead. The car’s backseat passenger, Keegan Morrison, 32, also of Minneapolis, was transported to the hospital and treated with non-life threatening injuries.

Minnesota State Patrol reported Nickaboine was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident and alcohol was detected in all three men.
