Warrior Fest a success

The Brainerd Public Schools Foundation (BPSF) is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in our Warrior Fest at Mills Field on Sept. 15. All proceeds from this amazing event will benefit BPSF and will enhance student opportunities in academics, activities, arts and athletics. We would like to thank the city of Brainerd for use of Mills Field and cooperation with planning and set-up.  Additionally, thank you to the entire Warrior Fest committee, which included Brainerd High School alumni from 1980-1999, especially Eryk Haapajoki and Nikki Harmer, who co-chaired the committee. The Jaycees came through as an enthusiastic partner with many members present with helping hands and a generous donation and we are grateful.

Thank you to our ticket vendors and 53+ sponsors, which included many local businesses and families who really showed their Warrior spirit with generosity. A complete list of sponsors can be seen at www.bpsf.org.

In closing, thank you to all who donated time and treasure, our vendors, musicians, attendees, and volunteers who showed your support. We appreciate each and every one of you.

All proceeds will benefit BPSF which will help provide additional funding under the 4As — academics, activities, arts and athletics. The 4A grant program helps fund our public schools with grants for classrooms.

Event photos can be seen on our Facebook page. For more information about BPSF or to donate, please see www.bpsf.org.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
