'Take it to the Box' program collects more than 330 pounds of medicines

Crow Wing County recently initiated the “Take it to the Box” program designed to accept unneeded medication from citizens.

This program has been active for six months, and to date collected more than 330 pound of pharmaceutical medication.

The medication is disposed of in a healthy, environmentally safe way through incineration. Proper disposal also prevents medication misuse/abuse and protects groundwater resources by keeping the medication out of the county landfill.
