Halloween round-up

■ Nisswa American Legion’s Halloween party

NISSWA — The Nisswa American Legion’s annual children’s Halloween party will be from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 28 at the Nisswa American Legion Post. All children 12 years of age and under are invited. There will be games to play and a treat will be served for all ghosts and goblins.

Brainerd Dispatch to host trick-or-treaters

The Brainerd Dispatch will open its doors to trick-or-treaters from 3-5 p.m. Wednesday at 506 James St., Brainerd.

■ Monkey Madness Halloween party at CCC

NISSWA — Trixie has gone bananas as she celebrates another birthday with a Monkey Madness party from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Community Church, 24646 Hazelwood Drive, Nisswa. Games, prizes, food, fellowship and candy are all a part of the evening for the whole family.

■ Brainerd Family YMCA to host carnival

The Brainerd Family YMCA will host its 23rd annual Halloween carnival from 3:30-5:30 p.m. Wednesday. The carnival is geared for children age 1 through 8, with face painting, a cake walk, moonwalk, pizza, games and more. Tickets are five for $1 or 25 cents each. ■ Trunk or treat at Light of the Cross

GARRISON — Halloween bash trunk or treat will be in the parking lot of Light of the Cross Lutheran Church from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday. There will be a spooky haunted trail with treats, games and much more. Light of the Cross is located two blocks west of the Super Valu in Garrison.

■ Trick-or-treaters at Woodland

Good Samaritan Society-Woodland is welcoming trick-or-treaters to come through for candy and fun from 5-6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

■ Aitkin Pet and Farm yappy hour

and costume contest

AITKIN — Aitkin Pet and Farm Supply is having its second annual pet costume contest from 2-5 p.m. Wednesday. There will be refreshments for pets and their families and prizes for best dressed, best owner/pet combo and the funniest costume. All pets and children who show up in costume will receive a treat.

■ Trunk or treat at

Shepherd of the Lake

GARRISON — Looking for a safe and fun alternative to trick or treating? Go from decorated car to car (or “trunk to trunk”) to fill your Halloween bag with treats from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday. ■ Brainerd PD trick-or-treating

The Brainerd Police and Fire Department’s ninth annual Halloween safety event will be 3:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesday at 225 East River Road, Brainerd. The first 1,000 children to visit the police department will receive a trick-or-treat bag, candy and a glow-in-the-dark necklace. Trick-or-treaters will be able to access the event at the police department garage located on the west side of the police department near Front Street.
