Much obliged-Diabetes Walk

Thank you for Stepping Out to Stop Diabetes

Oct. 6 was a beautiful day for a walk and we had a record year with 220 walkers present for the American Diabetes event at Paul Bunyan Trail. Nearly $33,000 was raised for diabetes research. There were 32 teams of walkers participating.

We thank the Minnesota American Diabetes Association for their guidance and assistance at the walk and thank you to the volunteers who helped in many ways. Thank you to the local sponsors for their support: Brainerd Eye Care, Essentia Health, Brainerd Hardwoods, Cuyuna Regional Medical Center, Mille Lacs Band of Ojibwe, Walgreen’s and Schaefer’s Foods for providing apples and Caribou for the coffee and sweets. I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
