Party for a Cause set for Saturday

The Pay It Forward Brainerd Lakes Cancer Fund will have its first Party for a Cause from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. Saturday at Breezy Point Resort, hosted by Wayne and Sylvia Swanson’s Cancer Fundraising. All proceeds from the Party For A Cause event go to Brainerd Lakes Pay It Forward for Cancer Fund through the Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Foundation. Tickets include dinner, funny money to gamble with and win great prizes, music, and silent auction.

Brainerd Lakes Pay It Forward for Cancer Fund was established to ease the burden of daily living expenses for those who have a diagnosis of cancer and are receiving treatment. The hope is that when the cancer survivor recovers they would in turn Pay It Forward by volunteering their time, talent or treasure to someone else in need. Funds will be used to directly impact cancer patients’ non-medical needs through a one-time financial assistance that may take the form of a gas card, mortgage payment, childcare expense, etc. In addition a small portion — 5 percent — will be dedicated to education for cancer prevention and early detection for the Brainerd lakes area.

All donations are tax deductible and can be made online at, by check payable to St. Joseph’s Foundation-Brainerd Lakes Pay It Forward for Cancer Fund, or by credit card. To learn more about St. Joseph’s Foundation or apply to the Brainerd Lakes Pay It Forward for Cancer Fund, call 828-7564.

Come and join in on the excitement of this event! Tickets are $25 per person and will also allow you to win a chance at four great prizes. Tickets may be purchased at Essentia Health-St Joseph’s Medical Center Gift Shop in Brainerd, in Baxter at Power Lodge, Party Time Rental, or Cash Wise Liquor, in Breezy Point at Breezy Point Resort & Convention Center Front Desk and Pine Peaks, in Crosslake at Judy’s House of Gifts, in Nisswa at Adirondack Coffee, in Pine River at Shamp’s Meat Market, or by calling Wayne or Sylvia Swanson at 218-562-5078.
