Upcoming blood donation opportunities

For those interested in donating blood, the following places will provide the opportunity: from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 20 and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 21, VFW Post No. 3922, 213 First St. SE, Wadena; from 1-6 p.m. Nov. 26, American Legion, 232 Fourth St., Ironton; from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 27 at Crosslake Lutheran Church, 35960 County Road 66, Crosslake; 12:30-5:30 p.m. Nov. 28, Deerwood Auditorium, 27 E. Forest Road, Deerwood; and from noon to 6 p.m. Nov. 29, Light of the Cross Church, 27170 Monroe St., Garrison.

Simply call 800-733-2767 or visit redcrossblood.org to make an appointment or for more information. All blood types are needed to ensure a reliable supply for patients. A blood donor card or driver’s license or two other forms of identification are required at check-in. Individuals who are 17 years of age (16 with parental consent in some states), weigh at least 110 pounds and are in generally good health may be eligible to donate blood. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.
