Four young people suffer injuries in broadside crash

■ Four injured in Saturday

minivan/car crash

WADENA — Five young people and one child were involved in a serious broadside collision between a minivan and a car Saturday on Highway 10 near Wadena.

One passenger, a 23-year-old woman, was in critical condition and airlifted to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale. The youngest passenger, a 3-year-old St. Paul boy was the only one without injury, the State Patrol reported.

The crash was reported at 5:28 p.m. at Highway 10 and County Road 75 in Otter Tail County. Elizabeth Flanagan-Montie, 23, Verndale, was driving a Toyota Echo south on County Road 75. After stopping at a stop sign, Flanagan-Montie continued onto Highway 10. Flanagan-Montie had three passengers in the car, Marissa Bergmann, 23, Jeremy M. Stacey, 22, of St. Paul and Jeremy L. Stacey, 3.

Jacklyn Irwin, 22, Wadena, was driving the Dodge Caravan traveling east on Highway 10. The van struck the passenger side of the car. All occupants were take to Tri-County Hospital in Wadena.

Bergmann was in critical condition and flown to the Twin Cities. Jeremy M. Stacey, Flanagan-Montie and Irwin all suffered non-life threatening injuries. All were wearing seat belts.

The Wadena County Sheriff’s Department, Wadena Police and Wadena Fire Department assisted at the scene.
