Thank God for what you have

On Thanksgiving you eat, you play with siblings and talk with your family. But most importantly, you thank God for what you have. I’m thankful for my family, our house and where our house is placed. For my family, Thanksgiving is a religious holiday.

I am very thankful for my family. My two brothers, Sam, who is 4, and Ben, who is 12, are my best friends. One of my favorite things to do with them is to wander around in the woods. Our dog, Boomer, is a recent member of our family. We just got him in September. He is 7 months old and very cute. Boomer is a mix between a collie and a boxer. He can jump high enough to lick your face!

My parents are an important part of my life. They are very happy together. Both of them have a good sense of humor. Fitness is very important to my parents. They teach us about God and what to do with our lives. My family is awesome!

I am very happy about the location of our house. We have three acres of woods, which is awesome for playing sports. Boomer loves to run around in our big yard. The really long circle driveway leading to our house is fun to ride bikes on. The Paul Bunyan Trail is right by our house. It used to be a train track. They just paved over it. Almost every afternoon during the summer, my family takes a walk on the trail. My brothers and I Rollerblade, bike or walk on the trail. There is a twisting path through the woods from our house to the Paul Bunyan Trail. There’s a lot of privacy in our neighborhood. The houses are far apart with lots of trees in between. You can barely see the other houses.

I love our house. My favorite place is downstairs. There’s squishy carpet all over. The big flat screen TV that we always watch movies on is downstairs. When my family watches movies we all sit on a big cozy reclining couch. We recently got a gas fireplace downstairs. It keeps us warm during the winter. Another part of our house that I enjoy is the kitchen. My brothers and I make a big breakfast with hash browns, eggs, sausage and pancakes or waffles, every Sunday. My dad makes super spaghetti and my mom makes delicious taco pizza in the kitchen. I love my bedroom too. It has a cool Japanese theme. I share my room with my little brother, Sam. My bedroom is where I always read before bed. While I clean my room, I always listen to music on the radio that’s on the book shelf. I sleep very good on my cozy, bouncy bed.

As you can see I’m thankful for my family, our house and the location of our house. Thanksgiving means thanking God for what you have. But that’s just what it means to me. What does Thanksgiving mean to you?
