Deadline is near for Stories of Christmas contest

Whether they are real family traditions or fictitious and fun, the Brainerd Dispatch wants your stories of Christmas.

But hurry, because the deadline is fast approaching.

Those interested in submitting stories can do so by 5 p.m. Friday.

Categories include kids up to age 12; juniors ages 13-20; and adults, 21 and older. Winners will receive $50 for first place; $35 for second place; and $20 for third in each division.

Stories should be 500 words or less. The winning submissions, along with a few honorable mentions, will be printed in the Dec. 24 edition of the Dispatch.

Stories should be emailed to delynn.howard@brainerddispatch or mailed to DeLynn Howard, Brainerd Dispatch, P.O. Box 974, Brainerd, MN 56401. Include your name, age, city where you live and a phone number (not for publication). Submissions without that pertinent information will not be considered.
