Electronics recycling drive to benefit area youth education

DEERWOOD — An electronics recycling drive is planned from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday to benefit continuing education for area young people through the Deerwood Technologies Scholarship Fund.

The event is at Deerwood Technologies, 21301 Archibald Road, at the corner of Archibald Road/Highway 6 and Cross Drive, in Deerwood.

All items are slated for an end-of-life environmentally safe facility in the U.S., Deerwood Technologies reported.

A donation of 55 cents per pound for any and all computer towers, laptops and microwaves, printers, monitors, copiers and fax machines, keyboards, routers, network hubs, cable boxes, VCRs, DVD and CD players, mice, cell phones, telephones, extra cables, personal digital assistants and MP3 players, digital cameras, camcorders and power supply/transformers, razors and toothbrushes. CDs are taken at no charge.

No major appliances or televisions are being accepted.
