HART is thankful for

Santa photos

HART would like to thank the following for making the Santa Photos a great fundraiser again this year: Lakeland Veterinary Hospital, Dianna Anderson and Kim Erickson, Office Shop, Duet Photography (Barb and Sam Best), Students from Club YAH (Youth at HART). And of course, a big thank you to everyone who had their pictures taken. Because you all care $1,389 has been donated to HART for the care of animals.

Marines give thanks for support of the Toys for Kids Christmas Program

The Marines of Heartland Detachment extend their most sincere thanks and appreciation to the businesses, organizations, and individuals who supported the 2012 Toys For Kids Christmas program. Through their generosity and the help of many volunteers, more than 1,100 children residing in southern Crow Wing County will have received gifts this Christmas — a record number in the 31 years the local Marines have sponsored this event.

In addition to the work by Heartland Detachment and Auxiliary members, hundreds of volunteer hours were contributed by people from the local community. More than 100 businesses and organizations supported the program through the collection of toys and donations. A special thanks to 3Wi radio for their many years in promoting the program, to the Green Lantern for their annual fundraiser, to the Salvation Army for their continuing assistance and cooperation, and to Kohl’s employees for more than 75 hours of volunteer service.

Because this is entirely a local program, the local economy benefited from an estimated $50,000 through the purchase and donation of toys and gifts.

Thanks to all of our supporters from the families and children we serve.
