BREEZY POINT — A 23-year-old Backus man was seriously injured Monday when the garbage truck he was driving ran off the road, hit a tree and he was ejected while traveling near 32485 Timberlane Point, just off of Crow Wing County Highway 11 in Breezy Point, reported the Breezy Point Police Department.

Andrew Zwart was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital where he was treated and released.

It was reported that the crash was a result of “driver inattention.”

The crash was reported at 7:39 a.m.

North Ambulance, Pequot Lakes Fire Department and Zone 3 First Responders assisted with the crash.
