Ice fishing contest and Scorpion Homecoming planned

CROSBY — The Cuyuna Lakes Chamber of Commerce annual ice fishing contest at Crosby Memorial Park on Serpent Lake Feb. 2 with over $1,200 in cash prizes. A $10 ticket will get you two holes to fish and enter you in the drawing for raffle prizes. Anyone who buys a raffle ticket can win a Eskimo Quick Fish 4 Pop up Fish Shelter, a Vexilar FS1000 Fish Scout 7 inch Color LCD Camera, a Eskimo 8” 40V Lithium Ion Ice Auger, a Crosslake Package Pine Peaks Lodge and Suites, Stand-up Comedy Club, Maucieri’s Dinner for two and an overnight stay, a Remington 870 Express 12 gauge, a Ruger 10/22 with scope or an overnight stay at Grand Casino.

The Scorpion Snowmobiles have been a part of the Cuyuna Lakes History since the late 1950s, the Scorpion Homecoming has been a celebration in conjunction with the Ice Fish contest since 2004. The Scorpion Homecoming is the largest annual event of its kind in the world, regularly drawing large numbers of Scorpion enthusiasts from throughout the United States and Canada. Hundreds of vintage Scorpion Snowmobiles will be on display.

If you happen to bring your Scorpion or Antique Sled an optional low-speed ride will circumnavigate Serpent Lake for approximately eight round-trip miles. Support vehicles may not be available, so plan accordingly. Vintage snowmobiles (25 years old or greater) are exempt from state license requirements while participating in this event.

This event celebrates Minnesota’s favorite winter pastimes, snowmobiling and fishing. There will be concessions sold by D&D Concessions.
