Youth Volunteer of the Month: Kayla Logelin

Youth volunteer of the month

Volunteer Coordinators Association of Crow Wing County honors the February 2013 Youth Volunteer of the Month: Kayla Logelin.

Hometown: Brainerd.

Family: Parents Dennis and Julie and five siblings.

Volunteer activities: Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center, where she volunteers weekly cleaning, selling pop, taking magazines and water to patients, plus miscellanous activities. She also helps volunteer with her family for the Brainerd Fire Department at the Crow Wing County fair, Fourth of July, fire safety and many other times.

I volunteer because: “I believe that if you are able that you should volunteer, also for the satisfaction of helping others and giving back to the community.”

My most rewarding volunteer experience is or has been: “I cannot think of one but I just like the feeling that it gives me after I volunteer.”

Nominated by: Deb Anderson, volunteer coordinator/gift shop manager, Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center.

I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
