Much Obliged-Feb. 10

Thank you to

the local veterinarians

Many times during the course of the year I get asked this question: “What kind of help do the local vets give HART? I sure hope it is a lot.”

As I reflect back on the year, and many before this one, I am very fortunate to reply that the local vets are very generous and helpful to HART. No one knows the hours volunteered by these doctors doing the things that staff cannot do, such as euthanizing a litter of puppies dying from parvo, amputating a limb too broken to fix, humanely tranquilizing and euthanizing a dog that has severely bitten a child, not to mention the many phone calls answering questions the staff may have, as well as offering discounted and in-kind services.

Next time I am asked this question, I will smile and answer, “The local vets are really the unsung heroes of HART. They help in every way they can.”

Please thank them next time you have the opportunity to visit with them.

Thank you to all the area veterinarians and their caring staff. They are truly a team member with HART.
