Thirty Lakes Watershed District (TLWD) is seeking applications

The Thirty Lakes Watershed District (TLWD) is seeking applications for stormwater/erosion reduction grants to fund projects to be implemented in 2013 and 2014 within the district.

Project proposals from community partners will reduce stormwater runoff and improve lakes and streams in Crow Wing County.

Projects may include shoreline restoration or buffers, rain gardens, rain barrels, and pervious systems. Funding is $2,500 up to $5,000 per property owner.

Projects may require an in-kind cash match, up to 50 percent of the cost. Projects must also be designed for a five-year minimum lifetime and include maintenance contracts with two-year minimum duration.

Applications are taken all year long. Guidelines are available at Thirty Lakes Watershed District Office, located in the Crow Wing County Land Services Building, 322 Laurel Street, Brainerd, or online at
