Five people injured in two-vehicle crash

LONG SIDING — Five people were injured in a two-vehicle crash reported at 10:30 a.m. Thursday along Highway 169, three miles north of Long Siding in Mille Lacs County, reported the Minnesota State Patrol.

It was reported that Roger Hartneck, 71, Annandale, was driving northbound on Highway 169 when he crossed the highway and was struck broadside by a vehicle driven by Amanda McVay, 25, Milaca. McVay was driving eastbound on Mille Lacs County Road 12, when she stopped for the stop sign on Highway 169.

Hartneck was taken to North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale, along with his spouse, Darlene Hartneck, 63, Annandale. Information on their condition was unavailable Thursday.

McVay and two children who were in her vehicle, Isaiah Tadych, 4, and Edward Tadych, 3, both of Milaca, were all taken to Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton for minor injuries.

The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
