Firefighters respond to two calls

The Brainerd Fire Department responded to two calls Wednesday.

Firefighters were called at 2:33 p.m. to the Washington Educational Services Building, 804 Oak St., Brainerd, for a general fire alarm. It was reported that construction work set off the alarm. Then at 4:45 p.m., firefighters were called to the Crow Wing County Fairgrounds property off Thiesse Road and 13th Street after a report that tree stumps that were burning.
