Brainerd Fire Department and Cass County Sheriff's office respond to weekend calls
Brainerd firefighters responded to a fire alarm at 7:58 p.m. Friday on Brentwood Road but were canceled en route. At 8:30 p.m. Friday, firefighters responded to a residence on the 900 block of South Sixth Street after a report of a gas smell, but a cause wasn’t found. Saturday was a just a few minutes old when firefighters were called to check out smoke in a building on the 400 block of West Washington Street. The smoke was from a belt on a blower system.
