Hours that it will be on display are noon to 8 p.m. Thursday; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. May 31; 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. June 1; and 8 a.m. to noon June 2.

The Traveling Wall is being presented by the American Veterans Traveling Tribute as part of the Minnesota Veterans of Foreign Wars state commander’s project, the Ride for Healing to benefit the Vietnam Education Center in Washington, D.C. The Ride for Healing kicks off Memorial Day at the state Capitol in St. Paul where four teams of classic cars and motorcycles will travel to four corners of the state, stopping at VFW posts along the way. The four teams will arrive in Brainerd on May 31.

An escort for the Traveling Wall will originate from the Brainerd Welcome Center with a lineup at 2 p.m. Wednesday and departure at 3 p.m. The escort is expected to include Brainerd/Baxter Police, Brainerd Fire Department, Lake Country H.O.G. and others.

The Crystal Military Museum will have an exhibit at the fairgrounds to coincide with the Traveling Wall’s display.

Cragun’s Family Fun Days, a military appreciation event, will be conducted May 26-27 at the resort. Events on May 26 include an 11 a.m. Family Fun Parade with the Brainerd High School Marching Band; a noon color guard presentation by Brainerd VFW Post 1647; and a 12:15 p.m. keynote speech by Col. Lowell Kruse. There will be music by Tim Williams, games and prizes and Humvee rides and rock climbing.
