Red Cross scholarships available for nurse assistant training
The American Red Cross is offering $800 scholarships for its Nursing Assistant Training (NAT) course in central Minnesota and northland Minnesota areas. The scholarships will help reduce NAT course tuition, which is regularly $1,250, by almost 65 percent.
“These scholarships will be available for a limited time so we hope people will act quickly to take advantage of this opportunity,” says Phil Hansen, CEO of the Northern Minnesota Region of the American Red Cross.
NAT scholarship classes are scheduled to start June 28. People interested in the program should call 612-872-3259 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about the scholarships and to register for the NAT program.
Upon completion of the American Red Cross NAT program participants are eligible to apply to take the NNAAP exam or the NA/HHA exam for certification as a nursing assistant or a nursing assistant or home health aide in Minnesota.
The job market for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) is a growing professional field, especially in facilities providing ongoing patient care or care for the elderly. A CNA helps patients or clients with basic quality-of-life needs under the direction of a registered nurse or licensed practical nurse.
The NAT scholarships are available because of generous funding from the Otto Bremer Foundation.
