The initial food manager certification course, called ServSafe, will be offered from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., July 30, at the Morrison County Government Center in Little Falls. A test will follow at 4:30 p.m. Participants must attend all day to be eligible to take the certification exam. This course includes information about safe food preparation, handling, sanitation and prevention of food borne illnesses. Registration is required by July 16.

Serve It Up Safely is a four-hour renewal course for certified managers. Certified food managers need four hours of continuing education credits within three years of becoming certified. University of Minnesota Extension educators and University specialists developed this renewal course that meets these criteria. I've worked at the Brainerd Dispatch with various duties since Dec. 7, 1983. Starting off as an Ad Designer and currently Director of Audience Development. The Dispatch has been an interesting and challenging place to work. I'm fortunate to have made many friends, both co-workers and customers.
