■ Cass Lake man injured when his jeep rolls
WALKER — A 62-year-old Cass Lake man was injured Tuesday when the Jeep Cherokee he was driving southbound on Highway 371, south of Ruffled Grouse Drive north of Walker, left the roadway and rolled multiple times, reported the Minnesota State Patrol.
Gordon Wright was taken to Park Rapids Medical Center for non-life threatening injuries.
The state patrol reported that there was alcohol detected in Wright’s system and he was not wearing his seat belt.
The crash was reported at 12:04 a.m.
The Cass County Sheriff’s Office assisted at the scene.
■ Pine River man
injured in rear-end crash
BAXTER — A 69-year-old Pine River man was injured Monday when the pick-up he was driving was rear-ended on Highway 371, north of Baxter, reported the Minnesota State Patrol.
Glen M. Tuma was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph Medical Center in Brainerd where he was treated and then released.
It was reported that Tuma was traveling southbound on Highway 371 and was in the left turn lane to make a U-turn to go northbound. He was almost stopped when he was rear-ended by a mini van driven by James H. Nix, 63.
It was reported that Nix was not turning and unsure how he got in the left turn lane. Nix said the pick-up all of a sudden appeared in front of him. Nix tried to brake before rear-ending the pick-up but it was too late and they collided. Nix complained of back pain but, denied an ambulance.
The crash was reported at 11:30 a.m.
