Bicyclist upgraded to serious condition

The 33-year-old Brainerd man, who was injured Saturday when he was hit by a vehicle while on his bicycle, was upgraded from critical to serious condition Tuesday at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.

Scott D. Reynolds was transported by North Memorial Ambulance to Essentia Health-St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Brainerd and then airlifted to the Minneapolis hospital.

The crash was reported at 11:19 p.m. Saturday on Highway 371 and Novotny Road in Baxter. The driver of the vehicle, Ryan D. Elyea, 22, Brainerd, was not injured.
