Duluth man charged in arson case

AITKIN — A 19-year-old Duluth man was charged in Aitkin County District Court in connection with the arson of a Shamrock Township residence north of McGregor.

The McGregor Fire Department was called to the scene of the fire on Nov. 10 at 11:52 p.m., and the house was fully engulfed.

The house, vacant at the time and owned by Grand Timber Bank of McGregor, was a total loss. The Aitkin County Sheriff’s Office and the Minnesota State Fire Marshall’s Office investigated the fire and determined it to be arson.

In a complaint filed today by the Aitkin County Attorney’s Office, Cameron Donald Kral was charged with one first-degree count of felony arson and second-degree felony burglary.

Bond/bail was set at $150,000 without conditions and $75,000 with conditions. Kral remains in custody at the Aitkin County Jail.
