Man killed and two hurt in crash in Todd County

CUSHING — A 53-year-old rural Cushing man was killed Monday in a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of 400th Street and Norris Road near Cushing, reported the Todd County Sheriff’s Office.

David K. Shoquist was pronounced dead at the scene.

The accident took place at about 2 p.m. Monday.

Sara Trantina, 19, Cushing, was driving north on Norris Road in a Jeep when she struck the Dodge Stratus driven by Shoquist. Shoquist was westbound on 400th Street when he drove through a yield sign and was struck broadside by the Jeep, according to the sheriff’s office.

Trantina and her passenger, Catherine Trantina, 50, also of Cushing, were transported by Staples Ambulance Service to the Lakewood Health System hospital in Staples where they were treated and released.

Motley Fire and Rescue assisted at the scene.
